The Geneva-based private bank Syz has appointed Florian Marini as its new Head of Equities. The equity specialist assumed his role on March 1, the bank said in a statement on Tuesday.

Marini brings around 25 years of experience in asset management for private and institutional clients, with a focus on equity strategies. Most recently, he spent eleven years at the Geneva-based asset manager Bruellan, where he served as Chief Investment Officer as well as co–fund manager. In that role, he built up the investment team, led the investment process and chaired the investment committee.

Further developing the bank’s investment capabilities

Before that, Marini spent 14 years at Lombard Odier, where he managed discretionary equity mandates and funds for institutional investors.

At Bank Syz, he will be responsible for further strengthening the bank’s equity expertise and research capabilities. Chief Investment Officer Charles-Henry Monchau described the appointment as an important step in reinforcing the bank’s portfolio management. Marini’s experience in macroeconomics and in building equity portfolios will make a significant contribution to further developing the bank’s investment capabilities.

Chief Executive Officer Nicolas Syz also sees the appointment as a signal of the private bank’s strategic development. By expanding its equity platform, Syz aims to offer its clients even more implementable investment ideas and long-term investment solutions in the future.
