Sina Meier: «I Love Watches!»
In the section Backstage, interesting personalities from the financial sector and beyond provide insights into their personal preferences every Wednesday.
What do you do first in the morning?
During the week, everything runs like clockwork: news, shower, tea, and rushing to catch the train — all in quick succession. On weekends, I swap the rush for fitness, brunch, friends — everything that brings happiness without an alarm clock.
What is the best part of your job?
I love working with people who take action and think strategically rather than just talk. Together with clients and colleagues, we develop ideas that may initially sound bold — but often turn out to be precisely the kind of innovation the world needs.
A moment that changed your life?
The day I realized that success is like fitness. It’s not about short-term highlights, but about endurance, discipline, and enjoying the process.
What cars do you own? Which is your favorite?
Surprisingly, I don’t own a car — my lifestyle is more «light and mobile». But if I had to choose, it would be a model that is fast, efficient, and a little daring — just the way I like it.
What advice would you give to your 20-year-old self?
Embrace new challenges, take risks, and trust yourself. There is no failure — only winning or learning. Every experience makes you wiser and stronger, whether in sports, investments, or life.
What are you particularly proud of?
That I follow my own compass. Trends? I test them, of course — but in the end, I trust my intuition, and it has never let me down.
What do you do when you have doubts?
Physical activity clears my mind — running, the gym, even trampoline training. Honest conversations with trusted people help, and sometimes all it takes is a night’s sleep. The next day, decisions often feel much clearer.
What is your favorite wine?
A red wine with character — rounded, complex, and pleasantly surprising. Like life itself: a mix of planning, courage, and a touch of joy in the unexpected.
What projects are you currently working on?
Right now, I’m focused on projects that make everyday life smarter, fitter, and more enjoyable. Whether digital tools, fitness challenges, or lifestyle concepts — anything that inspires people to unlock more of their potential.
What do you admire in other people?
I admire people who remain calm in turbulent times, who pragmatically seek solutions while staying true to themselves. Those who support others without losing themselves and who move forward with what they have, making the best of it.
What would be the biggest surprise for someone who had to take over your job for a day?
Many would be surprised by how much clarity, discipline, and balance the role requires — a well-crafted cocktail of analytical thinking, strategy, decision-making, personal routines, and creative conversations.
What is your personal drive?
Becoming the best version of myself — physically, mentally, and emotionally — while maintaining joy and lightness, no matter how challenging life may be.
What are you afraid of?
My goal is to act consciously so that one day I can look back and say: I lived the life that truly mattered to me and made the very best of it.
Your favorite watch brand?
You caught me — I love watches! It doesn’t have to be a specific brand. My watch should not only tell time, but be reliable, original, and always slightly different — that’s my style.
Is there an unfulfilled dream you would still like to realize?
There are several. I want to explore the world more deeply, inspire and motivate more people, and dare to do things I have not yet had the courage to attempt. For me, it’s about staying curious and growing a little every day.
Your best investment?
Without a doubt: crypto. For me, it’s not only financially compelling, but also an investment in innovation and the future.
