GAM Holding Appoints Former Credit Suisse Executive as New CFO
The asset manager has named Gerhard Lohmann as its new Group CFO, effective March 26, 2026. He will also join the Group Management Board, according to a statement released on Tuesday.
He succeeds Richard McNamara, who will leave the company at the end of April 2026. McNamara, who has served as GAM’s CFO since 2015, has decided to take on a new role within the asset management industry.

GAM stated that Lohmann brings an impressive track record as a leader with international experience across banking, insurance, reinsurance and asset management. He previously held senior executive roles at Credit Suisse (CS) and Swiss Re. At Credit Suisse, he served, among other positions, as Chief Operating Officer EMEA and Chief Financial Officer for International Wealth Management, having previously held senior roles in Asset Management as well as Corporate & Retail Banking. At Swiss Re, he was Chief Financial Officer of the Reinsurance Business Unit and a member of the Executive Committee.
Next phase of strategic development
His expertise includes financial strategy, liquidity and capital management, risk oversight, regulatory engagement, M&A integration and the modernization of finance platforms. In addition, Lohmann has been involved in social impact initiatives, including serving as a board member of education and entrepreneurship programs in East Africa. With the change in the senior leadership team, GAM is confidently entering the next phase of its strategic development, the company said.
