Starting at the beginning of 2026, Marc Blunier and Alain Krüger will jointly take over the leadership of the Swiss market. They succeed Patrick Prinz, who has decided to leave the bank for personal reasons, according to a statement released on Friday. Krüger will also be appointed Head of the Geneva location.

Prinz had only taken over the leadership of the Swiss market in August 2024. He joined Julius Baer in 2019 as Head of the Germany & Austria market, having previously worked at Bank Pictet.

As the new co-heads, the two managers will be responsible for all teams of the local business—across eleven locations in German- and French-speaking Switzerland—as well as for the implementation of strategic market initiatives.

Blunier has more than 30 years of experience at Swiss and international financial institutions, the statement continues. He has been with Julius Baer for six years, first as Head of Investment Promotion & Solutions and, since May 2025, as Global Head of Offering Management & Development. Before that, he spent ten years in various leadership roles in the investment division of UBS Switzerland.

Focus on Ultra-High-Net-Worth Clients

Krüger joins Julius Baer from Goldman Sachs, where he was responsible for UHNW and family office clients in Switzerland. From 2013 to 2020, he headed UHNW and Family Office Services for French-speaking Switzerland at UBS. He is described as a proven expert with more than 25 years of client-facing experience.

Krüger succeeds Sacha Bodenehr as Head of the Geneva branch, a role Bodenehr had held since January 2023. Bodenehr will take on the new position of Head of Business Management Geneva and will also serve as Krüger’s deputy on site.
