Banque Cramer Names Fabian Käslin as CEO

As the bank announced on Wednesday morning, Fabian Käslin has been named Chief Executive Officer (CEO) as of April 1, 2026. Subject to approval by the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority (Finma), he will succeed Jérôme Savioz, who has led the bank on an interim basis since July 2025. Savioz will remain with the firm as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Chief Operating Officer (COO).

A seasoned banking professional, Käslin joined Banque Cramer last summer as Head of Private Banking. He previously spent many years at Julius Bär under Boris Collardi, followed by roles at Legend Holding, its subsidiary Banque Internationale à Luxembourg (as Switzerland CFO and COO), and Banque Havilland in Liechtenstein, where he served as CEO.

Strong in client acquisition

Within wealth management circles, Käslin is regarded as a strong business developer with a strategic mindset and deep connections in Swiss entrepreneurial networks.

During his tenure as CEO, Banque Havilland in Liechtenstein recorded notable net new money growth—something that would likely also be welcome at Banque Cramer, which reported client assets of just 3.7 billion Swiss francs at the end of 2024 and remains a niche player. Figures for 2025 are expected shortly.

Previous stop: Liechtenstein

Käslin’s leadership role at Banque Havilland ended abruptly in spring 2024, reportedly amid differences with the group’s headquarters. Five months after his departure, Banque Havilland in Liechtenstein entered voluntary liquidation after the European Central Bank withdrew the banking license of its Luxembourg parent following regulatory issues (finews reported).

The appointment of the new CEO follows a series of management changes at the strategic level, as the Geneva-based institution—whose roots date back more than 300 years—undergoes repositioning.

Board reshuffle as well

Last October, Reto Kunz, former Chief Risk Officer (CRO) of Global Wealth Management at UBS, was elected Chairman of the Board, as finews reported. Since late 2025, Markus Blattmann—like Käslin a Julius Bär alumnus and former CRO of Amina Bank (finews reported)—has also joined the board as a compliance and risk specialist.

According to the statement, Käslin will be succeeded as Head of Private Banking by Placido Albanese, who, as a member of the executive committee and Head of Investment Services, will expand his responsibilities to include the private banking division.

An ambitious agenda

«The appointment of Fabian Käslin is a logical step», Chairman Reto Kunz said. The move positions the bank «for its next phase of development», with a focus on delivering «a truly personalized ‘red carpet’ service, supported
by a robust platform for sustainable growth».

Käslin added: «Our boutique model enables us to act quickly and provide reliability for our clients». The bank will further strengthen its positioning «while ensuring long-term value creation for clients and shareholders».

The ambitious direction of this new setup is already drawing attention in Geneva.
