The Forum Finance Group  in Geneva has appointed Cyrille Urfer as a partner. Urfer, who was previously the firm’s CIO, assumed his new role on 1 April. The new partner initially joined the independent asset manager on 1 June 2023.

Urfer has worked in finance for over 30 years and has particular expertise in the Middle East. In his former capacity, he spent several years as the head of sovereign wealth funds and
institutional clients Middle East at Unigestion.

Urfer held a similar position at Public Investment Fund (PIF), where he served as the head of global public markets. In this function, he oversaw two Middle East Sovereign Wealth Funds, named the Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF) and the Abu Dhabi Investment Council (ADIC). From 2012 until 2016, he was a CIO and head of asset allocation at Gonet & Cie. He was also the CIO for equities and fixed income at the Abu Dhabi Investment Council.

In Geneva, he spent a decade working for the Lombard Odier Group, where he held various executive titles. Urfer was the firm’s head of financial intermediaries, head of fund research and multi-management, and head of private asset management throughout different points of his career.

His professional career had its roots at Credit Suisse when he joined via a bank apprenticeship in 1985.
