The Board of Directors of VP Bank has appointed Roland Kläy as the new Chief Financial Officer and member of the Group Executive Management. He will assume the position on October 1, 2025, according to a statement released on Friday.

He succeeds Philippe Wüst, who had taken on the role on an interim basis following the departure of Roger Barmettler at the end of 2024.

Kläy brings more than two decades of experience in finance and risk management. Most recently, he was a co-founder and member of the executive management of Radicant Bank AG. Since its inception, he served as Chief Financial & Risk Officer and also acted as Co-CEO for a period.

Entrepreneurial Mindset and Expertise

In this role, he was responsible, among other things, for establishing corporate governance, obtaining the Finma banking license, and setting up and managing core functions such as accounting, controlling, risk control, legal, compliance, and information security.

Before that, Kläy held various senior positions at Aargauische Kantonalbank, including deputy member of the executive board for Finance & Risk and as Chief Risk Officer. He began his career at Ernst & Young, where he worked as a Senior Manager in banking audit.
