Postfinance Appoints New CFO with Major Bank Background

Postfinance has appointed Claudio Gaugler as the successor to long-standing CFO Kurt Fuchs, who stepped down at the end of February 2025.

Gaugler is described as a proven financial expert with extensive leadership experience in banking, according to a statement released Thursday. Until the end of August, Marc Bonfils will continue to serve as interim head of Finance and ensure a smooth handover. After that, he will return to his role as Head of Treasury.

Leadership Roles at Credit Suisse and UBS

Gaugler, 40, brings over 15 years of international professional and leadership experience in the financial sector. He studied Business Administration and Banking and Finance at the University of St. Gallen. Beginning in 2010, he held strategic and senior roles in corporate development and various finance functions both domestically and abroad at Credit Suisse and UBS.

Since 2023, he has served as CFO of Credit Suisse Asset Management, where he was responsible, among other things, for managing the financial integration into UBS.

Kurt Fuchs, who held the CFO position at Postfinance for 13 years, announced his departure in June 2024. He opted for early retirement, stating that he wished to make way for a new leadership team under CEO Beat Röthlisberger.
