GAM Appoints New Head of Distribution for Germany and Austria

GAM has appointed Mirko Ranno as the new Head of Distribution for Germany and Austria, according to a company announcement. The 43-year-old, who is based in Frankfurt, joined the company in January 2025 and assumed his new role at the beginning of June. He reports to Rossen Djounov, Global Head of Client Solutions.

The leadership change became necessary after Ranno’s predecessor, Jesco Schwarz, left GAM after just seven months to join competitor Neuberger Berman.

Ranno brings over 15 years of industry experience to the role. Most recently, he was a founding member at Punica Invest in Hamburg. Prior to that, he worked in Hamburg as well, for the fund company Antea and for Deutsche Bank, according to his LinkedIn profile.

With this appointment, GAM emphasizes its long-standing commitment to professional investors in Germany and Austria. The firm also announced that it plans to further expand its presence in the region by hiring additional relationship managers.

GAM has been active in Germany since 1989.
