Shock at Zurich Switzerland – CEO Steps Down
Juan Beer is leaving. The Chief Executive Officer of Zurich Switzerland is stepping down from his position with immediate effect. He intends to pursue new opportunities outside Zurich, the insurer said in a statement.
Until a successor is appointed, Urs Lüthy, currently Head of Commercial Insurance at Zurich Switzerland, will take over on an interim basis.

During his more than eight years as CEO, Beer successfully advanced the Swiss business and shaped the organization’s strong customer focus.
Lüthy joined Zurich Switzerland in 2002. He has held various leadership positions within the company and assumed his current role in 2022. Thanks to his extensive leadership and industry experience, he is, according to the statement, well positioned to ensure stability, trust and continued support for customers as well as for employees and partners.
