Best Watches of the Year: Breguet Triumphs in Geneva
On Thursday, the Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG) ceremony took place in Geneva for the 25th time.
The GPHG is considered the most important international distinction in watchmaking. Brands from around the world submit their most significant innovations; even a nomination is regarded as a seal of quality. This year's jury, chaired by journalist and historian Nick Foulkes, honored a total of 19 watch models that exemplify technical finesse and mechanical poetry.
Strong Winners
The evening was hosted by Antoine de Caunes, who guided the audience through the ceremony with wit and elegance.
The «Aguille d’Or» Grand Prix – the industry’s most coveted award – was presented to Breguet for the Classique Souscription 2025. In addition to Breguet, brands such as Audemars Piguet, Chopard, Greubel Forsey, Voutilainen, Zenith, Dior Montres and Bvlgari were also recognised.
The jury's special prize this year went to Alain Dominique Perrin, President of the Fondation Cartier pour l'art contemporain, for his long-standing role as a patron of outstanding watchmaking.
Showcase of the finest Timepieces
The 90 nominated watch models – including all 19 winners – will be on display at the Musée d’Art et d’Histoire in Geneva until 16 November. The exhibition will then be presented at Dubai Watch Week from 19 to 23 November.
Since its founding in 2001, the GPHG has honoured the highest achievements in watchmaking and strengthened the international visibility of an industry that unites tradition, craftsmanship and technical innovation.
