Clinics & Grand Hotels – The Company That Reimagines Switzerland
Generational Shift With a Migros Background
The transformation is also visible in the group’s leadership. «The company has grown – and I could no longer run it alone,» said Hubert. The handover had been carefully planned. Zumbrunnen described his new role with appreciation: «Our founders, Antoine and Michel, not only have vision – they also have the determination to see it through. That kind of entrepreneurial ambition really appealed to me.»
Zumbrunnen said he was already familiar with the healthcare sector during his time at Migros, where all major players would meet regularly. He had also known Hubert prior to his departure from the Swiss retailer. The transition to Aevis Victoria was quick and smooth.
Integrated Healthcare Regions
Aevis Victoria’s clinics are organized around regional healthcare systems with a focus on integrated care and preventive medicine.
The company operates a full-capitation model – providers receive a flat fee and assume the healthcare risk. «We take full responsibility – and that’s truly unique.» Two integrated networks are already active in the Jura Arc and in Ticino. «We’re particularly pleased that our members in the Jura region were the only ones in Switzerland last year who didn’t face premium hikes.» A third network is currently being built in the Zofingen area, in cooperation with the Cantonal Hospital of Aargau.

Luxury With Substance: From Zermatt to London
The company is also expanding its hospitality business – with purpose. «The Alpengold Hotel in Davos performed exceptionally well in 2024 – better than we expected,» said Zumbrunnen. In Interlaken, the Victoria-Jungfrau Grand Hotel exceeded CHF 50 million in revenue, with EBITDA up 27 percent.
The vision is clear: La Réserve as a global premium brand, with properties in Geneva, Paris, Zurich, and Ramatuelle. Michel Reybier Hospitality also owns ten more hotels, including the Victoria-Jungfrau in Interlaken, the Alpengold in Davos, the Bellevue Palace in Bern, and the Oscar in London. «This is the consistent execution of a vision Michel Reybier has pursued for 25 years,» said Hubert. Further expansion is conceivable but not essential. For now, the focus is on strengthening the existing portfolio.
Also Active in Publishing
Before wrapping up, we asked Hubert about one of his other ventures – one unrelated to Aevis: «L’Agefi has always been the only media outlet in the Romandie that is financially independent – not part of a big publishing group – and employs real financial journalists.»
What gives Hubert pause is the so-called «Röstigraben» – the cultural and economic divide between German- and French-speaking Switzerland. «It’s been widening rather than narrowing,» he said. «It risks turning into a Mariana Trench.» Aevis Victoria, for its part, is hardly to blame. With its successful investments across German-speaking Switzerland, the group is a living example of pan-Helvetic economic patriotism.
