Written by Sarah Praetorius
Shanil Stephan Bentotage, the head of structured products sales, EAM and banks at Julius Baer has left the bank.
Bentotage shared that he will be stepping down from his current role, which he held for the last five years, and moving on to a new chapter. Until then, he is on garden leave starting this April.
According to finews.com sources, Julius Baer has yet to find a successor for his role.
He Quickly Rose Through the Ranks
Bentotage, who was based in Zurich, spent over 18 years at the bank. He originally joined Julius Baer in 2007 as an associate director within investment advisory and was responsible for the transmission and application of the bank’s investment strategies.
He quickly rose through the ranks at Julius Baer. In 2011 he was named an executive director in equity derivates and structured
products in 2011, where he oversaw structured products sales to independent asset managers (IAM) and institutionals out of Geneva. Later in 2019, he was named the firm’s head of structured products, EAM and banks.
Before Julius Baer, Bentotage worked in trade finance for Credit Suisse as an assistant key account manager overseeing oil and soft commodities.
Julius Baer declined a request for comment.
