Oddo BHF Shifts Its Expansion Focus to Wealth Management

Oddo BHF (Switzerland) has appointed Thomas Burri to the newly created role of Head of Private Wealth Management (PWM) effective April 1. According to the announcement on Tuesday, Burri will be responsible for all PWM activities in Switzerland as a member of the Swiss Management Committee and will report to Martin Liebi, CEO of ODDO BHF (Switzerland), and Joachim Häger, Global Head Private Wealth Management.

Most recently, Burri served as Head of the Special Clients Desk EMEA within Global Wealth Management at UBS. His previous roles include positions at PricewaterhouseCoopers (management consulting), Valiant Holding, and in international wealth management at Credit Suisse (CS). During his 20-year tenure at CS, he held various leadership positions in Zurich and Hong Kong, advising high-net-worth clients with a focus on Europe and Latin America. He joined UBS following the takeover.

On Course for Expansion

Liebi comments: «With the appointment of Thomas Burri, we are underlining our ambition to further expand Private Wealth Management in Switzerland as a core business alongside Asset Management and Investment Banking.» 

Oddo BHF had already signaled its intention to expand in this country this year with announcements about its M&A business and brokerage .
