U.S. Private Markets Giant Expands Zurich Presence

KKR has bolstered its Global Wealth Solutions team in Zurich with the appointments of Derya Kara and Mattia Castrovillari, as reported by finews.ch. This expansion reflects the growing demand for KKR’s expertise among clients in the region.

Derya Kara has joined as a Director in the Global Client Solutions team and will co-lead Global Wealth Solutions in Switzerland alongside Tomislav Culic, who helped establish KKR’s Zurich office. Previously, Kara was Managing Director at Wellington Management, where she led the Global Wealth business in Switzerland, collaborating closely with private banks and wealth management platforms. Her career also includes roles at ABN Amro Private Bank, Credit Suisse Asset Management, and Aberdeen Asset Management.

Mattia Castrovillari has joined KKR’s Global Client Solutions team in Zurich. He most recently worked at Partners Group in the private wealth team and at UBS as a private markets specialist. Before that, he held client-focused roles at Capvis AG and Neuberger Berman.

Building Closer Ties with Private Banks

Since 1999, KKR has been managing long-term capital on behalf of a significant number of institutional investors in Switzerland, including insurance companies, pension funds, asset managers, and family offices. The Zurich office, opened in December 2023, serves as a hub for KKR’s activities across the DACH region.

«We are investing to grow our local presence in Zurich, building on our strong momentum and delivering KKR’s investment expertise to leading private banks and wealth managers in Switzerland,» said Markus Egloff, Managing Director at KKR and Head of Global Wealth Solutions, International.
