Zurich Insurance Group has appointed Patrick McBride as Head of International Construction, effective immediately. The newly created role sits within Zurich’s Global Specialty Construction & Surety division. McBride will relocate to London and report to Kelly Kinzer, Global Head of Construction & Surety.

McBride has led Zurich’s U.S. Construction Property team since 2021, where he has driven growth and innovation across the portfolio. Notably, he spearheaded the development of «Data Center Project Guard,» a first-of-its-kind solution designed to close coverage gaps, streamline complexity, and enhance risk management for data center construction projects.

Prior to rejoining Zurich in 2018, McBride served at Willis Towers Watson as Middle Market Broking Leader for the Mid-Atlantic Region, overseeing all lines of business and industry segments within the middle market. During his earlier tenure at Zurich from 2010 to 2016, he held a series of underwriting roles of increasing responsibility within the Construction Property team.

McBride began his career at Zurich U.S. through the company’s Underwriting Training Program (UTP).
