What do you do first in the morning?

Tim: One hour in the forest with Themba, my two-year-old male Rhodesien Ridgeback.

Fabio: Very differently… the main thing is not to go straight to the phone: sport, occasionally meditating, espresso and a good, short read, sometimes simply writing thoughts down on paper.

What is the best part about your job?

The exciting people we meet every day and with whom we are able to build interesting relationships.

A moment that changed your lives?

Tim: The feeling of freedom that arises when you become self-employed.

Fabio: For me, there is no single moment that changed everything. I would rather describe it as the sum of many small moments that, taken together, have determined my direction. This includes in particular the many experiences and conversations with the people who are most important to me.

What cars do you own? Which is your favorite?

We both are not big car enthusiasts, but rather modern and technology-oriented. We both drive an electric car.

What advice would you give to your 20-year-old selves?

Tim: Set high goals while at the same time living in the moment. At university you learn, in the gym you train, in the club you celebrate and in business you work. What matters is to give yourself space without dwelling mentally in the past or the future.

Fabio: In general, more composure; more writing; being and remaining curious/open; simply trying things out; setting high goals and focusing on personal development – but not hoping too rigidly for a very specific outcome. If you want something to happen, take matters into your own hands; there are never “perfect conditions”… the time is always now; just keep your BTC positions…

What are you particularly proud of?

Of the shared «journey», that we were able to experience by founding and building T4 Capital directly after our studies. Combined with many challenges. Every challenge has taken us a step further. Beyond that: the many great encounters with people who are open to engaging with new topics and technologies and who place their trust in us.

What do you do when you have doubts?

We talk to our mentors and shareholders. All people with strong track records and a lot of life experience. We see them as Indian chiefs with 100 years of experience on their backs.

What is your favorite wine?

Tim: Wines from Piedmont.

Fabio: Pinot Noir from my home region of Graubünden.

What projects are you currently working on?

Our full focus is on further growth with our flagship strategy, which combines Bitcoin, altcoins and crypto equities. In addition, we are working on a third strategic partnership that complements our two well-known Swiss asset managers.

In everything we do, we always focus on the success of our company. And for us that means: what we do is always 100 percent in the interest of our clients and our shareholders, both of whom believe in us.

What do you admire in other people?

Tim: Discipline, authenticity and openness. I get along best with people who communicate directly and without detours and who stand behind what they say.

Fabio: Independent, critical thinking and the ability to connect facts from our complex world creatively in order to develop new, interesting and tangible perspectives. In addition, I value down-to-earthness and approachability.

What would be the biggest surprise for someone who had to take over your job for a day?

Probably the general volatility of start-up life. We enjoy a lot of freedom of self-determination and flexibility – but at the same time we bear full responsibility. The required level of resilience is higher than one might think: we give our best every day, but much is not in our hands. One positive commitment is often followed by numerous rejections. A start-up has big visions, but also a lot of risk, and success is rarely linear. The best day of the year can directly follow the worst.

What is your personal motivation?

Building a functioning company together with friends, growing it and engaging daily with exciting new technologies and people is, for us, a non-plus-ultra set-up, for the preservation of which we work hard.

What are you afraid of?

Tim: Of idealistic egoists and know-it-alls. I do not like it when people think too extremely in one direction, remain closed to compromise and believe they know everything better. I am convinced that you can learn something from every person and every everyday situation.

Fabio: Of standstill and stagnating development. Especially with regard to people, I believe that the greatest danger lies not in the mistakes themselves, but in not learning from them and therefore not growing.

Your favorite watch brand?

Tim: Jaeger-LeCoultre – my mother gave me a Reverso. This watch has the greatest emotional value for me.

Fabio: No specific one, but preferably an old, inconspicuous model associated with an emotional story and memories of its previous wearer.

Is there an unfulfilled dream you would still like to realize?

Tim: I definitely want to go on a tiger safari once in my life and climb Machu Picchu a second time – this time with more gratitude. In addition, for me a fulfilled life includes starting a family.

Fabio: Less a static goal and more a state: at some point, I would like to spend the majority of my time passing on my hopefully even broader and more diverse experience to the next generation of ambitious entrepreneurs and supporting them as a mentor.

Your best investment?

From a life perspective: investments in people – such as the friendship between the two of us, as well as with Florian or Lukas, our co-founders of T4 Capital.

From an investment perspective: Bitcoin and Solana.

Tim Stingelin und Fabio Cavelti are the founders of T4 Capital. They both attended the business high school at Kantonsschule Enge. While Tim subsequently studied at the University of St. Gallen (HSG) and lived for several years in Cape Town and Medellín, Fabio completed studies at the University of Zurich, HSG and in Copenhagen. Both discovered their passion for blockchain and cryptocurrencies early on – Fabio already during his first job alongside his studies, Tim around ten years ago. Fabio increasingly deepened his involvement in the field and founded T4 Capital five years ago. Tim has been working in private banking recruiting for two years and works closely with a mentor in this field. Both share a long-standing enthusiasm for digital assets and financial innovation.
