The banking and insurance IT specialist Inventx is strengthening its board of directors with Thomas Zellweger, the company announced on Thursday. The University of St. Gallen professor succeeds Sandra Daub, who is stepping down to focus on operational roles and international advisory mandates.

With the appointment, Inventx is deliberately adding expertise in family businesses, corporate governance, and long-term corporate development to its board.

Focus on ownership strategy

Zellweger is an internationally recognized researcher in family firms and strategic management. Topics such as sustainable transformation, innovation across generations, and stable governance are set to move further into focus.

Gregor Stücheli, chairman and owner of Inventx, emphasized the strategic dimension of the appointment: «With Thomas Zellweger, we are gaining a proven expert in long-term corporate leadership. The 15-year-old company, with offices in Chur, Zurich Airport, St. Gallen, and Bern, operates critical IT infrastructure for banks—particularly around the Finnova core banking system—as well as for insurance companies.
