Bank Avera Streamlines Its Branch Network
Bank Avera is streamlining its branch network. It will close its branches in Fehraltorf and Bubikon as of June 30. In a media release issued on Tuesday, the bank explained that traditional bank branches are being used less frequently, as many people now conduct their banking transactions flexibly and digitally.
The Fehraltorf branch will be integrated into the Pfäffikon (ZH) location. Customers in Bubikon will be able to use the branches in Rüti and Wetzikon instead. This is intended to ensure that client service in the region continues seamlessly and that personal contact will remain available in the future.
Further Development of a Modern Branch Network
However, Avera is not only reducing its footprint but also expanding it. Following the new buildings in Wetzikon and Hinwil, a comprehensively renovated branch is being created in Pfäffikon (ZH), combining historic architecture with contemporary design and offering a modern, welcoming advisory environment.
André Wegmann, Chairman of the Executive Board, explains: «The needs of our clients are changing. Many now value direct, digital access to our services, independent of opening hours and location. At the same time, personal advice remains very important to us. By modernizing our branch in Pfäffikon ZH, we are making a targeted investment in the further development of a modern branch network.»
The cooperatively organized Bank Avera operates twelve branches in the Zurich Oberland, along the right bank of Lake Zurich, and in the city of Zurich, making it the largest regional bank in the canton of Zurich.
