Smart Wealth Appoints Roger Bootz as Head of Sales
Zurich-based Smart Wealth Asset Management has named Roger Bootz as its new Head of Sales, effective immediately. The move comes as the firm looks to accelerate its expansion among institutional and professional investors in its core European markets.
Bootz brings more than 25 years of experience in banking and asset management. Prior to joining Smart Wealth, he served as Head of Switzerland and Liechtenstein at Vanguard, where he led the group’s regional business development and distribution activities. Earlier roles included senior sales and advisory positions at Deutsche Bank, UBS and Lyxor Asset Management.
Focus on Switzerland and Germany
In his new role, Bootz will be responsible for Smart Wealth’s sales strategy with a particular focus on Switzerland and Germany. The firm said demand for its AI-driven investment solutions has been increasing among family offices, pension funds, independent asset managers and other institutional investors seeking systematic approaches within clearly defined regulatory frameworks.
Smart Wealth was founded by Miró Mitev, who has been developing quantitative and AI-based investment models for more than two decades. The company’s flagship multi-asset strategies are positioned as offering competitive risk-adjusted returns across different market environments.
«Pivotal Moment»
Commenting on the appointment, Mitev said Bootz joins the firm at a «pivotal moment» as institutional investors increasingly explore the role of artificial intelligence in portfolio construction. Smart Wealth chairman Manuel Ebner highlighted Bootz’s long-standing relationships across the DACH investment community as a key asset for the firm’s next growth phase.
Bootz said Smart Wealth’s approach stood out for its long-term focus and disciplined use of data-driven models, adding that he looked forward to expanding the firm’s presence in its home market and beyond.
