Valiant: Profit Also Rises in the Third Quarter

In the third quarter of 2025, the Valiant Group posted a consolidated profit of 108,3 million francs, an increase of 3,1 percent compared with the previous year, the bank announced on Thursday. Operating profit fell by 3,9 percent to 170,9 million francs, while operating income declined by 1,5 percent to 411,1 million francs.

CEO Ewald Burgener expressed satisfaction: «We remain on track. Even in a dynamic and challenging environment, we are pleased with the quarterly result.»

Commission business increases

While net interest income remained stable (–0,7 percent to 296,6 million francs), commission income rose by 5,9 percent to 72,0 million francs. The securities business in particular benefited, increasing by 12,3 percent thanks to favorable market conditions and the ongoing «Valiant 2029» strategy, which focuses on diversifying sources of income.

Trading income, however, fell by 23 percent to 31 million francs due to lower euro interest rates and reduced volumes. Other ordinary income rose by 8,2 percent.

Core capital strengthened

The bank increased its general banking risk reserves by 31 million francs, raising the equity ratio to 16,9 percent.

Valiant also remained on a growth path on the balance sheet side: mortgage loans increased by 0,8 percent to 28,9 billion francs, while customer deposits rose by 0,9 percent to 22,6 billion francs.

For the full year, Valiant expects a slightly higher consolidated profit.
