Cryptonow Leads the Race for the MiCAR License
It is now official: Cryptonow has secured the first EU license under MiCAR among Swiss firms. The company, ranked among the top five crypto enterprises in Switzerland, announced on Thursday that the license will enable it to scale its successful business model throughout Europe.
Founded in Zug in 2017, the fintech provides access to digital assets — ranging from brokerage and custody solutions to crypto gift cards available in retail stores.
For its EU expansion, Cryptonow GmbH in Austria will act as a fully regulated Crypto Asset Service Provider (CASP) under MiCAR, supervised by the Austrian Financial Market Authority (FMA).
«At the Threshold of a New Financial System»
With this setup, Cryptonow now operates the largest physical-digital infrastructure connecting brick-and-mortar retail directly with digital currencies. Marius Urban, founder of Cryptonow, commented:
«We stand at the threshold of a new financial system — one that is global, digital, open, and forward-looking. With Cryptonow, we want to give everyone the opportunity to be an active part of this transformation. As a regulated company under the EU MiCA license, we play an important role as a catalyst for adoption, access, and trust in the market.» Simon Grylka, Managing Director of Cryptonow, added: «The MiCA license allows us to continue our successful growth trajectory. It represents an important milestone in our mission to expand Cryptonow’s Swiss success story across Europe and to further strengthen our leading position in the market.»
