Luma Expands EMEA Leadership With Zurich Appointment
Luma Financial Technologies has named Tara York as its new Head of EMEA, strengthening the fintech’s commitment to one of its fastest-growing regions. York will be based in Zurich, reflecting Luma’s long-term investment in Switzerland, the world’s largest market for structured products.
In her new role, York will oversee the firm’s regional commercial strategy, focusing on client relationships, platform adoption, and new business development. She will also play a key role in building out Luma’s team outside the United States and act as a bridge between the U.S. headquarters and EMEA operations.
York succeeds David Wood, who has been promoted to Chief Information Officer. From his new global post, Wood will guide the firm’s information strategy, technology infrastructure, and data initiatives. He will also lead Luma’s artificial intelligence efforts, driving the development of new tools to enhance client experience and operational efficiency.
Strong Cooperation With Swiss Banks
The leadership changes come amid strong growth for Luma. Earlier this year, the company closed a $63 million Series C financing round led by Sixth Street Growth, alongside existing investors including Morgan Stanley, Bank of America, UBS, and TD Bank Group.
Luma’s presence in Switzerland has grown steadily since it opened its Zurich office in 2021. The firm collaborates with Vontobel’s Deritrade platform and is an active member of the Swiss Structured Products Association (SSPA), reinforcing its role in the country’s financial ecosystem.
Founded in 2018, Luma now connects with more than 50 issuers and supports over 50,000 financial professionals globally. The platform facilitates $70 billion in annual new issuance and administers more than $250 billion in assets across structured products and alternative investments.
