Non-Life Business Drives Strong Growth at Vaudoise

Vaudoise Insurance achieved a consolidated net profit of 84,1 million francs in the first half of 2025. This represents an increase of 3,6 percent compared to the previous year, according to figures released on Wednesday.

Revenue rose by 4,1 percent to 1,1 billion francs. The non-life business was particularly dynamic, with premium growth of 7,2 percent. Key drivers were non-life personal insurance, which grew by 8,7 percent, especially accident insurance (+13,8 percent) and health insurance (+5,3 percent). Significant momentum came from German-speaking Switzerland and the broker channel.

Improved Combined Ratio

Motor vehicle insurance also grew by 6,8 percent, despite high claims and rising costs. Property insurance increased by 6,4 percent, driven by animal insurance (+9,7 percent). The combined ratio improved to 96,7 percent, compared with 98,3 percent in the previous year.

Setback in Life Business

By contrast, the life insurance business was less encouraging, with premium volume declining by 35,5 percent due to the temporary suspension of the TrendValor product.

The investment strategy, focused on stable returns, generated a yield of 1,4 percent (previous year: 1,9 percent). Equity fell slightly by 1,5 percent to 2,51 billion francs.

For the full year 2025, Vaudoise expects further growth in the non-life segment.
