Multi Family Office: Former UBS Banker to Lead New Zurich Branch

Novum Capital Partners, a Geneva-based wealth manager recently named «Best Wealth Manager Switzerland» by Euromoney, is expanding to Zurich. The move is part of a strategic push to bring its independent multi-family office (MFO) model closer to the German-speaking part of Switzerland and its sizable community of entrepreneurial families.

The new Zurich office, operational as of early June, will initially host three employees, including Sebastian Jeck, who is a Partner and member of the Executive Committee. Jeck, a former UBS banker, will lead the local team.

«Strategic Response»

«Zurich is one of the most important financial hubs in Europe, with a high density of entrepreneurial and international families,» he told finews.com. «Our expansion is a strategic response to the growing demand for personalized, independent multi-family office services in this region.»

Founded in 2018 by Gabriele Gallotti, a former Geneva-based J.P. Morgan Private banker, Novum Capital Partners has grown rapidly and now manages over 5 billion Swiss francs in assets. The firm differentiates itself by offering conflict-free advice – it avoids retrocessions, does not sell in-house products, and works with a strict one-to-one client service model. Clients pay a management fee only.

«We offer one-to-one advisory with tailored solutions that go far beyond standard products,» said Jeck. «Our clients benefit from exclusive access to institutional co-investments and from our international expertise in tax structuring, succession planning, and alternative investments.»

Novum is also one of the few Swiss MFOs with a Finma license for its domestic operations, alongside a distinct, independently managed, yet wholly owned U.S. SEC-registered entity (Envisage GmbH) dedicated to serving American-domiciled clients - a structure that enhances compliance and global reach.

Focus on Organic Growth

Asked whether acquisitions could accelerate the firm’s growth in Zurich, Jeck struck a cautious note. «We primarily focus on organic growth. Our philosophy is to grow with quality – with advisors who share our values. An acquisition would only be considered if it fits us culturally and qualitatively. Many firms operate under a different model and are therefore not a fit for us.»

Novum Capital Partners sees long-term promise in Zurich and the broader German-speaking Swiss market. «We see enormous potential here. Many entrepreneurial families are looking for a true alternative to the traditional banking model. With our specialized approach, we are optimally positioned to provide sustainable solutions for multi-generational wealth preservation,» Jeck said.
