Tax Advisor Acquires Clariant's former Global Head of Tax
Alvarez & Marsal Tax (A&M Tax), a subsidiary of the global consulting firm Alvarez & Marsal, has appointed a new Senior Director in Switzerland with immediate effect: Gion Job.
«This is a strategic move by A&M to meet the growing demand from Swiss clients for global tax planning strategies,» according to the statement released Thursday.
Experienced Tax Expert with a Background in the Chemical Industry
Job is a tax specialist in mergers and acquisitions (M&A) with more than 30 years of experience in leading global corporate tax functions for international publicly listed companies in the chemical industry.
Before joining A&M, he spent 23 years as Global Head of Tax at Clariant and two years in the same role at the Ems-Chemie Group. At Clariant, he led tax teams across the Americas, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East, contributing to increased tax efficiency, regulatory compliance, and the transformation of the group’s portfolio.
Strong Ties with Cantonal Tax Authorities
As a member of the SwissHoldings Tax Committee and the Tax Executive Council, Job also supported various Swiss cantonal tax administrations on tax reform projects.
He will work closely with Kersten Honold, Managing Director in Zurich, and help drive the development of A&M’s tax practice, which «has been continuously expanding since its launch in Switzerland in 2024.»
Marvin Rust, Managing Director of A&M Tax UK and Head of A&M Tax EMEA, commented on the appointment: «His broad network and hands-on expertise in international corporate taxation, M&A, and transfer pricing—gained from top positions in the industry—perfectly meet the needs of our clients and complement our existing tax advisory capabilities in Switzerland.»
