Maerki Baumann Grows Profit and Assets Across the Board

In the past financial year, Maerki Baumann recorded a rise in profit and saw assets under management grow by almost a quarter. Gross profit rose by 13 percent year-on-year to 17,16 million francs, while net profit increased by 14 percent to 13,3 million francs, according to the annual report published on Thursday.

The positive result stemmed from an increase across all major sources of income. Net interest income rose by 7 percent to 14,83 million francs, and income from commission and service business increased by 14 percent to 38,88 million francs. Trading income benefited from foreign exchange gains driven by the growing corporate client business, with a 29 percent increase to 6,12 million francs.

Improved Fee Income

In addition to the successful orientation of its private banking and indirect real estate businesses, the bank’s positioning toward blockchain and technology-focused corporate clients also contributed to the performance. It achieved higher recurring fees, and transactional fee income also improved.

Assets under management at year-end were up 23 percent to 11,2 billion francs. Around 60 percent of the increase was attributed to investment performance, with the remainder coming from net new money. The main contributors were private banking and tech banking.

As of the end of 2024, the bank’s total assets stood at 9,25 billion francs, up 23 percent from the previous year. The number of employees rose to 96 from 90.
