Oddo BHF has expanded its Equity Brokerage und Equity Research in Switzerland in cooperation with Commerzbank. To this end, the Franco-German private bank has hired an eight-strong team of equity brokers and equity analysts headed by Stefan König. This was announced by the financial house on Thursday.

The team will be based in Zurich.

Change from Stifel

«With this move, Oddo BHF is offering equity research for a total of around 80 Swiss public companies. These companies have access to over 800 institutional investors in the USA and Europe, around 100 of which are based in Switzerland,» the press release states.

König took up on his position as Head of Equities Switzerland at Oddo BHF on March 1, 2025. Most recently, he was Country Head Switzerland at Stifel Financial Corporation. Prior to that, he worked for Bank Vontobel, NCB and Main First.

Signal in the Direction of the Swiss Market

«With this significant increase in our capacities, we are sending a strong signal to the Swiss market, one of the most important equity markets in Europe, which we are further expanding as our third home market alongside France and Germany,» says Christian Zahn, Group Head Investment Banking and member of the Group Management Committee.

In recent years, Oddo BHF has established Equity Brokerage and Equity Research platforms in Europe through partnerships with Commerzbank, Natixis, ABN Amro, BBVA and Raiffeisen Bank International.

Partnership with Commerzbank

At the beginning of 2024, Commerzbank and Oddo BHF announced a partnership for the Equity Brokerage & Research business in Switzerland.
