Former Credit Suisse Leaders Launch New SME Financing Model
Swiss fintech company Kredo has secured another round of financing just months after launching its platform. The firm also has plans for expansion.
Kredo specializes in corporate financing and promises Swiss SMEs access to loans within just a few days. This is made possible in part by the Kredo Debt Fund I, an investment fund exclusively dedicated to business loans. The fund is expected to grow to 500 million Swiss francs by the end of 2027.
Founders With a Strong Banking Background
Kredo was founded by Lucas Wüst, a former Credit Suisse (CS) executive who worked in corporate banking at the now-defunct Swiss bank. Wüst is currently the CEO of the fintech company.
«The strong interest in this financing round underscores an urgent need in the Swiss economy – making SME SME lending more efficient and accessible,» says Wüst.
New Shareholders and Strategic Partnerships
Another corporate finance expert and former CS executive, Didier Denat, has joined Kredo. Denat previously served as Head of Corporate & Investment Banking and a member of the executive board at Credit Suisse Switzerland. He will take on the role of Executive Chairman at Kredo.
«It was about time that Switzerland saw the emergence of new, innovative financing solutions for SMEs. Kredo fills this gap,» says Denat.
Additionally, Raeto Guler is joining the firm as a partner and head of the Swiss-German market.
Kredo is also forming a strategic alliance with Ecofina, a company that has been providing financing solutions for over 20 years.
