Lombard Odier: Zurich EAM Desk Reaches the Next Level

Established in 1989, the Zurich EAM Desk currently consists of 12 team members, accounting for approximately 15% of Lombard Odier’s global EAM taskforce.

What sets the Zurich team apart from EAM desks at other private banks is the suite of tools at their disposal. The team has access to a proprietary IT system developed specifically for Lombard Odier. «Of course, this was a significant investment, but the platform gives us a competitive edge because it was developed by asset managers for asset managers,» says Inti Perez Pedersen, Head of EAM Switzerland (German-speaking region).

A Comprehensive Portfolio Management System

Through the Portfolio Management System (PMS), external asset managers gain access to the expertise of over 200 investment specialists across equities, bonds, investment funds, and alternative assets. Additionally, the system allows users to analyze portfolio performance, generate tailored client reports, and consolidate assets.

Expanding the Platform and Introducing AI Tools

Next year, Lombard Odier plans to expand the platform further to enable the integration of AI-based tools. The goal is to enhance efficiency in workflows, providing employees with more time for client advisory services.

Preparing for Generational Wealth Transitions

Part of this focus includes supporting generational wealth transitions. «It is advisable to prepare the younger generation early for their future roles,» says Pedersen. This approach aligns with Lombard Odier’s strategy. «The earlier we engage with them, the better we can identify their needs,» he explains.

Sustainability at the Core of Investments

Experience shows that younger generations value quick access to information, a clear understanding of investment opportunities, and a strong emphasis on sustainability. «For us, sustainability is not just a buzzword. It is synonymous with long-term investment,» Pedersen emphasizes.
