Broker Howden Expands Into French-Speaking Switzerland

Western Switzerland was previously missing from Howden's map. That changed on Monday when the broker announced its acquisition of Perennial.

Founded 20 years ago, Perennial operates in Préverenges near Lausanne and in Fribourg. By integrating this specialized team and expanding the two offices, Howden is creating a new interregional hub for French-speaking Switzerland under the banner of Howden Romandie.

Founded in 2005 by Sacha Baumli, Perennial specializes in corporate insurance focusing on personal insurance, pension fund solutions, and absence management.

New Shareholders

Sacha Baumli, currently Partner and Board Member at Perennial, will take charge of Howden’s development in Western Switzerland while remaining Chairman of Perennial’s Board.

Cédric Gomez, also a Partner and Board Member, will assume responsibility for Howden’s «Affinity» business in Western Switzerland. As part of the sale, both Baumli and Gomez will become shareholders of Howden Switzerland.

Global Network

«Howden and Perennial share strong common values. Joining Howden’s global network gives us access to specialist expertise, international markets, and the global Howden One network. Together with Howden, we will expand our services and strengthen our presence in Romandie,» said Baumli, newly appointed Regional Director for Romandie.

«The acquisition of Perennial marks a significant milestone in French-speaking Switzerland and an important step in our strategic plan,» added Felix Jenny, CEO of Howden Switzerland.
