Silex Group Divests its Fixed Income Business

The Silex-Gruppe is divesting its bond management activities and thus Silex Investment Managers (Switzerland), which is domiciled in Geneva. The activities will be taken over by Axiom Alternative Investments (Axiom AI),as detailed in a press release on Thursday.

Silex Investment Managers, which specializes in bonds, manages four funds with an equivalent value of €575 million, which are mainly distributed in Switzerland. For clients invested in the bond funds managed by CIO Philippe Kellerhals and his team, this transaction offers access to an expanded range of funds covering alternative strategies, European bank shares, European financial bonds and corporate bonds from emerging markets, according to the press release.

Focus on the AMC Business

Xavier Laborde, CEO of Silex, explains: «This transaction will allow the Silex Group to focus on the distribution of Actively Managed Certificates (AMC), organized around our advanced digital platform Spark, which excels in the presentation of diversified portfolio allocations. The Group will continue the development of Silex Investment Managers, which is authorized by the AMF to design and distribute innovative investment solutions for the Group's clients.»

David Benamou, Managing Partner of Axiom AI, comments: «This transaction marks an important milestone in the development of Axiom AI. We are strengthening our management team with new talent, expanding our investment solutions offering and giving Axiom AI a strong presence in Switzerland, which will become the company's second business center after France.»

Axiom AI Already Present in Geneva

Silex is an independent financial group serving the wealth management industry, with a workforce of approximately 100 people across Europe. According to the company, it «arranges» structured products with a nominal value exceeding €4 billion annually.

Axiom AI is an independent asset management company based in Paris with offices in Geneva, Milan and London. At the end of October, the company managed €2.4 billion in the form of UCITS funds and mandates.
