New Julius Baer CEO Wants to Know it Early
In July, following an extensive search process, the Zurich-based Julius Baer Group named Stefan Bollinger as its next Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The group has now announced that Bollinger will assume his role on January 9, 2025. Previously, the bank had indicated a tentative timeline of «by February 1» at the latest.
Extensive International Experience
The 50-year-old Swiss national joins Julius Baer from Goldman Sachs in London, where he served as Co-Head of Private Wealth Management EMEA, as well as a member of the European Management Committee and the Global Wealth Operating Group. Bollinger spent 20 years at Goldman Sachs, including 14 as a Partner. Prior to that, he worked at J.P. Morgan in London. Over the course of his career, he has gained experience in Hong Kong, London, Luxembourg, New York, and Zurich.
With Bollinger’s appointment, Julius Baer fills the leadership vacancy that arose after Philipp Rickenbacher stepped down in February. Rickenbacher’s resignation followed significant losses tied to credit exposure in the Signa Group, the Austrian business empire of entrepreneur René Benko. Since then, Nic Dreckmann has been serving as interim CEO.
