Digital Economy Award: Celebration at UBS

UBS was honored at the Digital Award Night with the prize in the category «ICT Education Excellence.»

The combined major bank has continuously increased the number of IT apprenticeships in recent years and now trains over 250 ICT apprentices. For UBS, the training of young people is «extremely important,» said Giacinto Provenzano, Chief Business Officer at UBS.

A key element of basic training at UBS is close collaboration and a rotation principle across different units. «For us, this has almost become a distinguishing value,» Provenzano said.

The jury agreed, noting that the rotation principle is particularly an aspect that other companies could adopt.

Suva Honored for Mega Project

Suva won the award in the category «Digital Excellence Government & NPO» with the largest project in its 100-year history: «smartCare.» This project focuses on the digitalization of claims management.

As part of the transformation, not only were existing processes digitalized, but so-called «Client Journeys» were also newly envisioned in a digital format. The significant increase in efficiency allows Suva experts to allocate more resources and provide more personalized support for complex cases. «Suva has already set the standard for the industry with its approach today, and further development in terms of automation and network effects is clearly visible,» concluded the jury.

The Digital Economy Award recognizes individuals, companies, and organizations that drive digitalization forward in Switzerland. The event is organized by swissICT, the largest professional association in the industry with 2'500 members.
