Credit Suisse Helps Start-Up Tokenize Shares

Credit Suisse is helping action sports company Alaia, tokenize its shares, while using Taurus' platform to manage the tokens, according to an emailed statement Tuesday. Details of the deal were not disclosed. 

Taurus was founded in 2018 in Geneva and specializes in digital assets and blockchain. With its technology, the bank can secure the digital custody of Alaia's equity, including automated corporate actions processing, as well as the functions to issue, redeem, and transfer the tokenized shares.

The tokenization was performed according to Swiss laws and regulations, using the Ethereum public blockchain, according to the statement.

Alaia has digitized its equity in view of upcoming secondary trading on Taurus Digital Exchange in the coming months, the statement adds.
