Geissbuehler Weber Group (GWP) is hiring Lars Hodel as a director to share his regulatory knowledge on distributed ledger technology (DLT) and cryto-currencies, and to advise on the application process with Switzerland's financial regulator, according to an emailed statement overnight.

Lars Hodel headed Bitcoin Suisse's legal and compliance unit until last month and was part of the company's executive board.
He is a member of the the Crypto Valley Association's anti-money laundering working group, according to his Linkedin page.

Anti-Money Laundering

Hodel left Bitcoin Suisse after the company failed to obtain a Finma license earlier this year due to the regulator's concerns around anti-money laundering measures.  

GWP advises financial market participants on regulatory and compliance-specific topics and has a unit specialized in fintech topics, DLT and digital risk and compliance.
