Urner Kantonalbank has appointed Christoph Wiederkehr as a new member of the executive board and Head of Corporate Management, according to a press release issued Thursday. The 42-year-old will assume his post on 01.12.2026, succeeding Urs Eichenberger, who will retire at the end of the year.

In his new role, Wiederkehr will be responsible for Strategy & Controlling, Finance & Risk, Legal & Compliance, as well as Human Resources.

With this appointment, the board of directors is relying on a manager with many years of experience in the financial sector and a strong strategic background.

Chairman Heini Sommer described Wiederkehr as “an accomplished leader with in-depth expertise and extensive experience in finance.” CEO Lucien Berlinger also highlighted the significance of the appointment for the bank's future development.

Wiederkehr has worked in the financial sector for over 20 years.

Urner Kantonalbank manages total assets of around CHF 4.1 billion and is the market leader in the canton of Uri.
